ELKTON, MD. –The Elkton Chamber & Alliance is pleased to announce the creation of an Emergency COVID-19 Grant Program, by means of a repurposed grant from the Department of Housing and Community Development. This grant was originally awarded for Main Street Improvement, so the repurposed funds must stay in the Designated Maryland Main Street area (map is attached to the grant application) and can only be used by businesses with W2 employees. No match is required. The micro-grant program is intended to support retail businesses impacted by COVID-19 aiding in helping with rent, utilities, and payroll. Grant Applications are due by May 29th. Additional funds have been applied for with less restrictions. The State of Maryland has taken far-reaching and proactive steps to minimize the impact of COVID-19 across our state. There are various resources for our small businesses during this time.
Cecil County Department of Economic Development has introcuded new grants and loans as well to help businesses. More information can be found on their website.
